Bandhavgarh National Park is one of the popular national parks in India located in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh. The park derives its name from the most prominent hillock of the area, which was said to be given by Lord Rama to his brother Lakshmana to keep a watch on Lanka. Hence the name Bandhavgarh.

Rich mixed forests consisting of Sal, Saga, Salai, and Durbin, with dense bamboo thickets, occur in many places spread in an area of 694 Sq.kms approx. Bandhavgarh has one of the highest density of Bengal tigers known in the world and is around 65-70 in this park. The first white tiger was captured in this region in 1951.

There are 39 caves in the Bandhavgarh fort and in the surrounding hillocks up to a radius of about 5 km. The oldest cave dates from the 1st century. These together provide Bandhavgarh its rich biodiversity and Historical significance. With the tiger at the apex of the food chain, it contains 37 species of mammals including Leopard, Wild Dogs also known as Dhole in local language Jackals, Jungle Cats, and Sloth Bear. According to forest officials, there are more than 300 species of birds, about 80 species of butterflies, and a number of reptiles. There are also antelopes like Chowsingha/Four Horned Antelope and the Neel Gai, it also has a good population of Indian Gaur thanks to the efforts of the Forest department. The majority of locals living here are tribals mostly Gond and Baigas and are believed to be most primitive tribe of India.

Weather

Temperatures in winter range from 35 degrees C during the Day and can Drop to -4 to -6 degree C late at Night and early mornings.

Temperature in Summer range between 45 to 48 degree C

Accessibility by Train Jabalpur: 170 Kms and Katni: 100 Kms
(Both the places are connected by trains from Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Delhi)
Accessibility by Air Jabalpur Airport: 185 Kms.
(Daily Flights only from Delhi)
Accessibility by Road The Roads are in fairly good condition from Jabalpur (3.5-4 Hours) Katni (2.5Hours) and Nagpur (7.5-8 Hours) to drive.
  • Day 1

    Ahmedabad – Jabalpur

  • Day 2

    Jabalpur to Bandhavgarh

    Arrival at Jabalpur. Proceed to Bandhavgarh by AC Innova (3.5-04 HRS).On arrival at Bandhavgarh, check-in into the resort, and after a refreshments, lunch. Set out for an evening walking trail with a naturalist.Dinner and overnight stay.

  • Day 3

    Tiger Safaris in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve

    With an early wakeup call and tea/coffee with cookies, get set for the safari with packed breakfast. On your return to the resort have tea, relax refresh. Lunch. Post Lunch proceeds for another Safari, and return to the resort for dinner and overnight stay.

  • Day 4

    Tiger Safaris in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve.

    Wakeup call. Tea/coffee with cookies with packed breakfast get set for the safari, return to the resort have tea, relax refresh. Lunch. Post Lunch proceeds for another Safari, and return to the resort for dinner and overnight stay.

  • Day 5

    Bandhavgarh.

    Wakeup call. Tea/coffee with cookies with packed breakfast get set for the safari. Return to the resort. Lunch. Post lunch leaves for Jabalpur in Innova. And catch the train for Ahmedabad.

  • Day 6

    Arrive Ahmedabad. End of Tour.

COST INCLUDES

  •   Jabalpur - Bandhavgarh - Jabalpur (Pick up and drop) in a private car.
  •   Accommodation on twin sharing for 03 nights at resort at Bandhavgarh with Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Tea/Coffee and Snacks in morning and evening.
  •   All Safaris with Park entry permits and private safari gypsy with trained Driver and guide.

  •   Train fares Ahmedabad-Jabalpur-Ahmedabad.
  •   Any meals/ mineral water during the train/flight travel.
